INSURANCE MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS
SilverSneakers - Check your eligibility here. If you are eligible, bring your SilverSneakers ID# to the Y to sign up. Begins in January.
AARP Senior Membership - AARP members need to have a letter stating they are enrolled in the AARP Medical Supplement Plan.
Renew Active - This program is available with select United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans. Members will need a confirmation number/letter.
PeerFit Move - PeerFit is a benefit through HAP or Medicare. Apply through PeerFit and once you are accepted come into the Y to sign up.

INFORMATION STATION

AGE REQUIREMENTS OF THE Y

TO BE IN THE FACILITY
Youth members ages 12 years old and younger need to have their guardian present in our facility during their visit unless the child is involved in a YMCA program at that time.
TO USE CARDIO EQUIPMENT
Youth ages 7-11 may use the cardio equipment, after completing an orientation, and must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. For safety reasons, youth age 6 and under are not permitted to use cardio equipment. Youth ages 12-14 may use cardio equipment unsupervised but must attend an orientation.
TO USE FREE WEIGHTS & PIN CABLE EQUIPMENT
Youth ages 13-14 may use the free weights and pin cable equipment, after completing an orientation, and while accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Youth ages 15-17 may use this equipment unsupervised after completing an orientation. For safety reasons, youth 12 and under are not permitted to use the free weights and pin cable machines.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
Paid annually by cash, check, VISA, or MasterCard.
If membership lapses more than 60 days, joiners fee must be paid again. All membership fees are non-refundable and non- transferable.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP - Bank/Credit Card Draft
A convenient and affordable way to pay your membership dues.  Your payment is automatically debited from your checking account or savings account or charged to your credit card every month. For more information, check at the member service desk.
Cancellation requires 30-day written notice prior to bank draft date.  All membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

LOCKER/VALUABLES

We have two locker rooms available for use in the lower level and day use lockers in the hall on the first floor. Lockers are available for daily use or may be rented annually. If you are using a locker for daily use, there are day locks available at the Member Services desk. Please do not leave personal items in day lockers overnight. The YMCA assumes no responsibility for removed contents or for cut locks. We recommend that you do not bring valuables to the YMCA and that you do not leave valuables visible inside your car.
Membership includes a FREE small locker with a lock. Medium ($35/year) and Large ($50/year) lockers are available to rent on an annual basis.
The YMCA is not responsible or liable for any lost, stolen or damaged items. There is a lost & found box kept at the Member Services desk. The locker room is reserved for guests ages 16 and older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

GUEST PASSES
Guests do not need to be with a YMCA member to purchase a guest pass. Rates are subject to change.
Youth Day Pass - $5.00
Adult Day Pass - $10.00
Family Day Pass - $20.00
We ask that Day Pass users take all belongings with them when they leave the building.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

FREE EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION
When you’re new to the YMCA or not sure how to use a certain machine, our staff are here to help! Members are given the opportunity to go through a free one-time orientation with a wellness staff. Equipment orientations will help you learn the
proper form and technique for the weight equipment and how to use the cardio equipment. Appointment times and availability vary. Schedule your appointment at the Front Desk.
​New members (or memberships that lapse for 60 days) pay a one-time Capital Contribution to join the YMCA.  

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Within the limits of available funding, no individual will be denied access to a YMCA membership due to a proven inability to pay.  For more information, visit the member service desk. ​

CREDIT/REFUND POLICY

Program refunds will be given for medically verified reasons only.  A refund check will be available 10-14 days after request is submitted.  Requests due to change in personal circumstances will receive a credit toward future YMCA programs.  Credit/refund request forms are available at the member service desk and will be reviewed by the CEO for approval.  Program credit/refunds will not be given for cancellations due to weather; these programs may not be rescheduled. ​
ATTIRE
All members are asked to wear appropriate t-shirts or tank tops, shorts of at least mid-thigh length and closed-toe shoes while using the facility. Appropriate shoes are to be worn in the facility at all times. Non-marking shoes should be worn in the gym and racquetball court.
Please wear non-marking shoes only in the gym and racquetball court.

SMOKING & VAPING

The Shiawassee Family YMCA prohibits smoking, vaping and/or tobacco use anywhere in the facility or on its grounds.
YOUTH POLICY
1)  Any youth 12 and under must have parent supervision with them in any area including the gym UNLESS they are participating in a program (such as gymnastics or basketball).
2)  Any youth who have not had an orientation or are not within the required age groups are not allowed in the weight rooms, Cybex room, or cardio room. 
3)  Youth ARE allowed in the racquetball court as long as they are being respectful (using appropriate language, no horseplay).
4)  Kids Gym - Only youth 12 and under will be allowed in the kids gym unless someone is participating in a program or group exercise class (such as yoga or judo). They must always be under the supervision of an adult.  

Failure to follow the rules could result in a youth being asked to leave and could end in a one-month suspension from the facility.
